Sometimes, simple things, such as going to the toilet or providing basic information such as a phone number can be overlooked. Willagee Licensing Centre does not have any public toilets. People requiring service are required to wait for over an hour when the centre is busy, also, students going for their practical test, sometimes at the last minute need to use the toilet, and if you are desperately in need you need to ask permission to be allowed to use the licensing centre toilet. Therefore, it is a good idea to keep this in mind when visiting.
Another problem we have encountered at the licensing centre is when we have booked a test, we don’t always get the opportunity to take the test because the examiner who is assigned to take the student for their test calls in sick.
Generally, staff from the licensing centre will attempt to contact students if they have the phone number on record to notify them, however this is not always the case and when we arrive at the centre we are informed the driving test has been cancelled. Students may have taken time off from work or school and there is no recompense. If this happens we are required to rebook the test for a later date and try again.
In the past some of the staff obtained their certificate 4 and would take out students in the examiners absence, however, that appears to have ceased.
